AceShowbiz - Princess Kate Middleton enlisted the support of Lady Gabriella Windsor, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, to help plan her annual Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey this year. The gesture reflected the service's theme of love, kindness, and empathy.
Lady Gabriella, also known as Ella, aided in organizing the music performances featured during the service. A source revealed that she was "touched and grateful" to be asked to contribute to the event.
Kate's request came after Lady Gabriella's husband, financier Thomas Kingston, passed away in February due to a head injury. An inquest later ruled his death as suicide.
The carol service, held on December 6, featured performances by Olivia Dean, Paloma Faith, and JP Cooper. The Cambridge family, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, joined Kate and Prince William for the event.
Terminally ill Olympic cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy and Lindsey Burrow, the wife of the late rugby league star Rob Burrow, lit candles during the service. Emotive readings were delivered by Richard E Grant, Michelle Dockery, Sophie Okonedo and Adam Peaty.
Kate's involvement went beyond organizing. She lent her voice to the introduction of the program, reading excerpts from a letter she penned on love and empathy. In her message, she emphasized the importance of empathy and the need for love in troubled times.
The heartwarming service will be televised as part of the special Royal Carols: Together At Christmas, airing on Christmas Eve on ITV1 and ITVX. It will also feature films showcasing individuals and organizations who have provided support and comfort during challenging times.
