Ben Wang stars as Li Fong, a young man who relocates from Beijing to New York City following a family tragedy. Struggling to acclimate to his new environment, Fong finds himself drawn into the world of karate and kung fu to navigate the challenges he faces. His journey mirrors that of the original Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph Macchio, who returns as an elder statesman of the martial arts world.

The iconic Ralph Macchio reprises his role as Daniel LaRusso, offering guidance to the new protagonist. This time, he's joined by Jackie Chan, who plays the kung fu teacher, Mr. Han. It's an exciting collaboration that brings together elements from different martial arts backgrounds. As Mr. Han states in the trailer, "Li is to me what you meant to Sensei Miyagi," referring to Wang's character and highlighting the parallels between the old and new stories.
