In a candid revelation, Madea's creator Tyler Perry has expressed his disinterest in directing superhero movies although he often watches comic book films along with his kid.

AceShowbiz - Tyler Perry has declared his lack of interest in directing superhero movies, emphasizing the need for personal connection to a project. "You've got to have a passion for it," he stated. "I'm not a big superhero person."

However, he acknowledges that his son enjoys them, so they watch them together.

Perry, who has numerous film, television, and stage credits to his name, believes that his new movie "The Six Triple Eight" is his most ambitious production yet. The Netflix film, starring Kerry Washington and featuring a cameo by Oprah Winfrey, showcases the untold story of the only all-Black female U.S. Army unit to serve overseas during WWII.

Perry revealed that he is currently writing a Christmas movie featuring gospel music. Nevertheless, he expressed uncertainty about his future filmmaking plans following the completion of "A Jazzman's Blues" in 2022.

He shared that "A Jazzman's Blues," which took him 27 years to make, left him feeling a sense of accomplishment. However, "The Six Triple Eight" reignited his drive. Upon learning the story of the 855 Black women who served in WWII, Perry was "embarrassed" by his lack of knowledge. He realized that their story had been concealed due to the shame many women felt upon returning from the war, fearing misconceptions about their role.

Variety's film critic, Peter Debruge, hailed "The Six Triple Eight" as Perry's "best and most substantial feature to date." Ebony Obsidian, the actress portraying Lena Derriecott King, expressed pride in being a part of a project that honors these unsung heroines.

Overall, Tyler Perry's passion for historical and meaningful stories drives his filmmaking decisions, leading him to prioritize projects that connect with audiences on a deeper level.
