'The Crown' alum Emma Corrin faced a swarm of 5,000 live rats while filming 'Nosferatu,' enduring their unpleasant odor and incontinence on a daily basis.

AceShowbiz - Emma Corrin recently shared the difficult experience filming a scene for new movie "Nosferatu", a horror film directed by "The Witch" filmmaker Robert Eggers, with dozens of rats crawling all over them.

"30 of them were on my bare chest," Corrin recalled, adding, "Honestly, I was being very brave about it. But then we were in the scene, and I had no top on, and it was just horrible."

The actor described the smell as "something that you can't imagine" and revealed that the rats "loved" their hair, often sitting in their wig and getting into their face. "It was a bit like when they had to put their hand in the box with the tarantulas on 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' " Corrin said.

Director Robert Eggers explained that they used 5,000 live rats for the film but had to contain them with plexiglass. "But what was more challenging was for Emma Corrin, who has live rats placed on their body, and they're incontinent or defecating and urinating on Emma take, after take, after take. That's difficult," Eggers added.

Corrin's onscreen husband, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, advised his real-life wife, director Sam Taylor-Johnson, not to watch the movie due to its terrifying and potentially phobia-triggering content.

"Nosferatu" premiered in theaters on December 25.
