On "Personal", Khalid and Normani explore the intimacy and physicality of a relationship. Normani sings, "The door is open/ You don't even need a key/ You've been pushing on me so relentlessly." Khalid follows up, adding, "So sensual and/ You know I can never stay mad at her."
This reunion marks the duo's second duet, following the success of "Love Lies" in 2018. "Love Lies" reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Pop Songs airplay chart.
