AceShowbiz - Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to join the cast of J.J. Abrams' upcoming, untitled Warner Bros. movie. The film also stars Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega, and Emma Mackey.

Plot details remain under wraps, though sources say this is not a time-travel film, as some have speculated. Abrams will direct from his own script, with Bad Robot producing.

Jackson will play a key role in the project, which is expected to shoot in the spring in the UK. This will mark Abrams' first feature as a director since 2019's "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" and his first original feature since 2011's "Super 8."

Jackson has had a busy 2024 with appearances in several movies and series, among them Matthew Vaughn's all-star caper "Argylle" and "The Piano Lesson," Netflix's adaptation of the play by August Wilson directed by Malcolm Washington. He is also part of the ensemble of Peacock's crime mini-series "Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist" that also stars Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle, and Terrence Howard.

In the can, the actor has sci-fi action flick "Afterburn," with Olga Kurylenko and Dave Bautista, and is due to shoot a Renny Harlin action movie titled "The Beast."
