AceShowbiz - Neve Campbell is returning to the "Scream" franchise in 2026, and she's bringing some fictional family with her. "1883" star Isabel May has been cast as the daughter of Campbell's character, Sidney Prescott. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the casting news.
May made a breakout impression on the "Yellowstone" prequel series "1883", where she played Elsa Dutton. She also reprised the role on the follow-up series "1923".
Campbell is returning to the series as Prescott after skipping "Scream VI" over a pay dispute in 2023. She previously appeared in "Scream V" a.k.a. "Scream", Paramount's 2022 revival of the franchise alongside longtime series co-stars David Arquette and Courteney Cox. They were joined by Melissa Barrera, Jack Quaid, Mikey Madison and Jenna Ortega. The "Scream" franchise was created by Kevin Williamson and legendary horror director Wes Craven.
"Scream 7" is set to release on February 27, 2026. Kevin Williamson, the creator and writer of the original franchise, will direct the film, with Guy Busick penning the script. James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Paul Neinstein of Project X Entertainment will produce the film.
In addition to "Scream 7", May has several other projects in the works, including the action thriller "Karoshi", the horror film "Menace", the romantic dramedy "Falling" and the revenge thriller "Wild World".
