Music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs, facing severe charges, is asking to have his shackles removed in upcoming court hearings, arguing that shackles create juror bias and hinder communication with his attorney.

AceShowbiz - Sean "P. Diddy" Combs has formally requested to appear unshackled in court, a move that his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, argues is essential for ensuring a fair trial. The 55-year-old rap mogul, represented by Agnifilo, filed this request in a late-night motion on November 18. This plea comes ahead of his court appearance scheduled for November 19, addressing charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking.
The motion emphasizes the importance of removing the shackles, pointing out that during Combs' previous court appearance on October 10, he was shackled without any justification.
Agnifilo highlighted this issue, stating, "We write on behalf of our client, Mr. Sean Combs, to respectfully request that the Court direct the United States Marshals Service to unshackle Mr. Combs prior to bringing him into the courtroom for tomorrow's hearing and for all future court appearances." He argues that shackling Combs in court could create a "juror bias" fueled by media exposure, thereby jeopardizing the fairness of his trial.
Further complicating his legal battle, Combs has faced accusations of violating jail rules. Prosecutors claimed that while incarcerated in Brooklyn, Combs used a "non-authorized third-party messaging service" to influence potential jurors and orchestrate a social media campaign around his birthday through his children. These actions led to his most recent bail motion being denied on November 8, despite his lawyers citing new evidence which they believed should secure his release before trial.
Among the severe allegations he's facing in trial, the initial indictment includes shocking claims related to what has been described as "freak offs." In a March 2016 video cited in the indictment, Combs was allegedly seen assaulting a woman in a Los Angeles hotel. The woman in question was his ex-girlfriend Cassie.
However, Combs' legal team disputes these claims, presenting the footage as evidence of a "complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim 1." Despite pleading not guilty to all charges, Combs remains entangled in a legal battle with his trial scheduled for May 2025.
This case continues to captivate the public eye, with every development eagerly tracked and debated.
