AceShowbiz - Nicole Kidman has finally addressed her viral meme from 2001 picture of her walking outside with her arms raised in triumph. In a recent interview with British GQ, she refuted the widely held belief that the iconic photo was a celebration of her divorce from Tom Cruise.
"That's not true," the Oscar winner clarified. "That was not me; that was from a film, that wasn't real life. I know that image!" Kidman did not disclose which movie she was referring to.
The meme, which resurfaced when Jenna Dewan posted it on Instagram after her divorce from Channing Tatum, has been heavily circulated and perceived as a joyous celebration of Kidman's freedom from her marriage to Cruise.
After divorcing Cruise in 2001, Kidman married Keith Urban in 2006 and welcomed two daughters with him. She reflected on the lasting impact of her divorce, saying, "I thought our life together was perfect. It took me a very long time to heal. It was a shock to my system."
Kidman also addressed other viral moments, including the awkward clapping GIF from the 2017 Oscars. "I had a massive heavy borrowed ring on and it was really painful, and I was scared of wrecking the jewelry," she explained her unusual gesture.
But Kidman doesn't mind being turned into a meme, "I'll do anything for cinema, so you can meme me as much as you want."
