Queen of Pop, Madonna, faces one of her toughest challenges yet: bringing her life story to the screen, as she gets real about numerous setbacks of making her long-delayed biopic.

AceShowbiz - Madonna is no stranger to struggle and pushing boundaries, but her latest endeavor may be her most daunting yet. The 66-year-old icon has been working on a biopic about her life for the past four years, a project she's determined to bring to fruition despite numerous obstacles.

The film, set to star Julia Garner, has encountered resistance from producers and agents who've consistently urged Madonna to "downsize-down scale -think smaller." In an impassioned Instagram post, Madonna detailed the days she spent "listening to producers and agents tell me why I couldn't make my film."

Initially drafted by Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody and subsequent revisions by Erin Cressida Wilson, the project was put on hold in 2023 as the Material Girl embarked on a Celebration tour.

Despite these challenges, Madonna remains undeterred, even pondering whether to transform her biopic into a TV series instead. Determined to remain fearless, she sought inspiration from creative friends, renewing her commitment to the project.

"I realized that everything in my life is going to be challenged," Madonna confessed on social media. "No easy rides for me. I guess I should be grateful. It forces me to think outside the box. I did not have a normal life. I cannot make this in the normal way."

The biopic aims to cover Madonna's early career in New York City and her rise to fame throughout the late '80s and early '90s. Despite the setbacks, Madonna is resolute. "We cannot shrink and make ourselves smaller. If you want something badly enough in life - the whole universe will conspire to [help] you get it," she asserted.

She wrapped up her message with a question to her fans, "Should I make the story of my life into a series or a feature film? Think before you answer!!"

Following the tour, Madonna announced in July that she would be resuming work on the biopic and teased a screenwriting page with the potential title "Who's That Girl," a nod to her 1987 film and soundtrack single of the same name. Julia Fox, who was initially attached to play Madonna's friend Debi Mazar, stated she's no longer involved with the current iteration of the film.

As the Queen of Pop faces this new chapter, her fans eagerly await to see how Madonna's unparalleled life will be immortalized - whether on the big screen or as a series. One thing is certain: Madonna's story, characterized by resilience and defiance of convention, will continue to inspire generations to come.
