Chigvintsev appeared in high spirits, smiling and giving peace signs.

Chigvintsev has been in the news due to his arrest on domestic violence charges in August 2024, which were later dropped. The incident led to his removal from the "DWTS" faculty list, resulting in a substantial loss of income. In a court filing, he claimed that the "false allegations" caused him a loss of over $100,000. He further alleged that his ex-wife, Nikki Garcia, falsely accused him to protect her career.

Despite rumors of reconciliation, Chigvintsev has clarified that he has no intention of getting back together with Garcia. His attorney has stated that he has not been in contact with her since early October. Amid a heated custody battle, Chigvintsev and Garcia were awarded joint legal custody of their son in October 2024.

Their divorce remains ongoing, and Garcia has requested sole custody of their son while Chigvintsev seeks joint custody. Garcia had previously filed for a restraining order against Chigvintsev, alleging that he had violently grabbed her waist during an altercation.
