Despite being housed at the same prison, the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, 6ix9ine is being kept isolated from the hip-hop mogul due to their celebrity status.

AceShowbiz - The infamous rainbow-haired rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine, is facing a series of legal hurdles, violations of supervised release, and a stint in the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, which coincidentally also houses music mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. Their paths, however, are on very different trajectories.

Currently, Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, faces several consequences for breaching the terms of his supervised release. TMZ Hip Hop reports that he will spend the next 30 days in the MDC, followed by a tiered system of home incarceration for another three months. Specifically, after his 30 days in prison, 6ix9ine will undergo a month of home incarceration, then a month of looser home detention, concluding with a month of curfew before finally gaining complete freedom. If all goes according to plan, 6ix9ine will be free before the end of the first third of 2025.

Despite sharing a facility with Diddy, 6ix9ine and the music mogul are kept entirely separate. Lance Lazzaro, 6ix9ine's attorney, affirmed this, debunking any rumors of the two stars mingling or exchanging gossip behind bars. Lazzaro notes that 6ix9ine is unhappy with his current situation, particularly being locked up, but he is glad to be a step closer to regaining his freedom.

6ix9ine's recent violations leading to his current predicament include unauthorized trips to Las Vegas and Central Florida, failing to take mandatory drug tests, and testing positive for meth, although Lazzaro suggests this could be a false positive due to the rapper's Adderall prescription. The violations have compounded 6ix9ine's legal troubles, making it clear that authorities are taking the matter seriously.

Background on 6ix9ine's legal troubles dates back to 2019 when he took a plea deal following an indictment on racketeering, narcotics trafficking, and firearm charges. His cooperation with federal agents led to the conviction of his fellow gang members, including his former manager, Kifano "Shotti" Jordan, who is currently serving a 15-year sentence. Initially facing a 47-year prison term, 6ix9ine's plea deal reduced his sentence to five years of probation, a move that branded him a "snitch" but granted him his freedom at the time.

The path forward for 6ix9ine still presents challenges, and his ability to adhere to the forthcoming staggered terms of release will be pivotal. All eyes are on whether he can navigate these hurdles without further setbacks.

In contrast, Diddy, held in the same facility, faces potentially severe consequences if found guilty of his sex trafficking and racketeering charges, with a life sentence looming. For now, both figures reside in one of the most notorious detention centers in the United States, but their futures could not be more different.
