AceShowbiz - "Southern Charm" star Jarrett "JT" Thomas has announced his departure from the series, citing the need to prioritize his health following a challenging year. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Thomas expressed his gratitude for the experience but emphasized his need to step away.
"Yesterday, I informed Bravo that I will not be participating in the remaining green room interviews and that I no longer wish to participate in any ways moving forward with the TV show," Thomas wrote. "I will leave it at that for now while I work on next steps to recover physically and mentally from what has been an extremely challenging and exhausting year."
Thomas joined the cast in Season 9 and quickly became a prominent figure, most notably involved in a physical altercation with fellow cast member Austen Kroll. While he will still appear in the upcoming Season 10, which premieres on December 5, he will not participate in any further filming.
According to Thomas' co-star Madison LeCroy, his departure has been a source of ongoing drama within the show. "This year is going to be drama, of course, as always," LeCroy said. "We're getting rid of him, so we won't say. I'm putting an end to it. It's done."
"Southern Charm" follows the lives of wealthy young singles in Charleston, South Carolina, as they navigate their relationships and careers. The series has gained a significant following due to its blend of Southern charm and interpersonal drama.
