AceShowbiz - Prince's sister Tyka Nelson was dealing with serious health problems before her untimely passing. According to emergency call logs obtained by TMZ, paramedics visited her home at least six times between September and November this year. The calls were reportedly made either by Nelson or on her behalf for issues including GI tract bleeding, heart concerns and pain from infection.
On September 14, Nelson was rushed to the hospital for one of these incidents. Sources close to the family revealed that she had been battling heart problems for several months. Despite these health challenges, an official cause of death has yet to be released.
Nelson had a successful music career independent of her brother, releasing four albums from 1988 to 2011. However, she was most notably known for accepting Prince's American Music Award for Favorite Soundtrack in 2016 after his passing.
In June, Nelson had been working on a memoir and planning a farewell concert to celebrate her musical legacy. Unfortunately, she became ill and was unable to participate in the event.
Tyka Nelson's passing is a reminder that even in the midst of a successful life, health challenges can arise unexpectedly. Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones during this difficult time.
