Kendrick Lamar may be the headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl LIX halftime show, but the decision has left Lil Wayne and many of his fans feeling blindsided.

AceShowbiz - Lil Wayne has publicly expressed his disappointment after being overlooked as the halftime show performer for Super Bowl LIX, which will take place in his hometown of New Orleans.
During his performance at Lil Weezyana Fest, Wayne addressed the situation directly. "When I first heard the Super Bowl was here, I made sure I bought tickets at the beginning of the season," he said. "I did the same when I moved to Miami, and I was wishing my team made it again."
"That moment, I told myself, 'I want to be onstage at the Super Bowl one day in front of my mom,' " Wayne continued. "And I worked my ass off to get in that f**king position. It was ripped away from me."
Wayne's comments have sparked speculation that his frustration extends beyond losing the bid to Kendrick Lamar, who will headline the show. Wayne has a long-standing friendship with Drake, who has had a public feud with Lamar. However, Wayne stated that his disappointment stems from feeling personally slighted.
"I don't imagine it'll convince anyone in the NFL to flip the script on Kendrick Lamar and give Lil' Wayne the bid instead," the article notes. "But perhaps the most valuable outcome would be for NFL execs to be fully clear on why Lil' Wayne was so upset to lose out on the Super Bowl bid in general, and that it wasn't just about losing out to Kendrick Lamar."
Despite not being the headliner, it's possible that Wayne could still perform alongside Lamar. The two rappers have collaborated on the song "Mona Lisa". However, it remains to be seen if Wayne will accept the offer, given his public expression of disappointment.
The Super Bowl LIX halftime show is scheduled to take place on February 9, 2025.
