DC Studios amps up excitement as rising stars and acclaimed filmmakers join forces for the highly anticipated film 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow', set to release in 2026.

AceShowbiz - DC Studios' highly anticipated "Supergirl" film has added a rising star to its cast. Eve Ridley, known for her role on "3 Body Problem", has been tapped to play Ruthye Mary Knolle.
Ruthye is a pivotal character in the film, which is based on the acclaimed "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" comic series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Ruthye is an honorable and determined warrior who teams up with Supergirl to hunt down Krem of the Yellow Hill, a villain who killed Ruthye's father.
Joining Ridley in the cast are Matthias Schoenaerts ("Rust and Bone") as Krem and Milly Alcock ("House of the Dragon") as Supergirl. The film will be directed by Craig Gillespie ("I, Tonya", "Cruella") and written by Ana Nogueira, who previously wrote a Supergirl movie starring Sasha Calle from "The Flash" TV show.
The "Supergirl" film is part of the first wave of DC Studios projects, along with "Superman", which is set for release on July 11, 2025. Supergirl will follow on June 26, 2026. The studio's first project, "Creature Commandos", will debut on Max on December 5.
DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing the "Supergirl" film, with Chantal Nong executive producing.
