"Whenever me and my ex would come here, we fought," Spears wrote in the caption of her post. "Not one time did I sleep in [the] bed with him!!! I got a pillow and would sleep outside."

Spears did not reveal the identity of the ex-boyfriend, but she hinted at some of the reasons behind her choice to sleep outside. "I like the sound of the fountain outside!!!" she explained. "I wanted to whisper the secrets of the universe... I've stayed inside a lot this trip because it's insanely hot!!!"

The Grammy winner went on to describe the serene nature of her surroundings, noting the presence of "birds singing" and a "stained glass entrance door" that reminded her of a "OLD SCHOOL CHURCH."
