AceShowbiz - Lana Del Rey, known for her melancholic ballads and unique voice, revealed her wedded bliss in a rustic ceremony held by the water in Des Allemands, Louisiana. When she appeared at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards, the 39-year-old singer shared her happiness on the red carpet, stating simply, "It's good. We're happy."
Del Rey and her husband Jeremy Dufrene, who went public with their relationship only a month before tying the knot, originally met during one of his boat tours in 2019. Dufrene, a 49-year-old former chemical plant worker turned swamp tour guide, has three children from a previous relationship.
His former fiancée, Kelli Welsh, expressed shock over the quick nuptials, stating, "I am in shock because we were engaged for 12 years, and he got married after one month."
Despite the sudden nature of their union, Welsh had nothing but kind words for Dufrene, describing him as "a very protective, hardworking, manly man" who deserves happiness.
However, married life hasn't been entirely smooth sailing for Del Rey and Dufrene. The singer recently took to Instagram to share her concerns about their privacy being invaded, citing incidents of drones flying into their windows and being followed by trackers.
"Unfortunately, a local couple from Houma won't stop flying drones into our windows every morning and following us with a tracker," she posted. She also urged paparazzi to cease their relentless pursuit and stop altering images, "Stop switching vehicles following the family, and stop following us around remote parts of the country and Photoshopping my wedding ring into a pearl… I know we would feel a lot safer."
Despite these challenges, Del Rey remains optimistic about her new marriage, praising Dufrene, "All that being said, Jeremy is the one and only. And amazing. And we're very happy."
Del Rey's career continues to thrive alongside her evolving personal life. She first rose to fame with her 2012 album "Born to Die," featuring iconic tracks such as "Video Games" and "Summertime Sadness." Her most recent album, "Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd," earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year, though it ultimately lost to Taylor Swift's "Midnights."
As Lana Del Rey embarks on this new chapter with Jeremy Dufrene, fans are eagerly watching to see how this unexpected love story unfolds.
