Upon Gaga's announcement of the song's release on Instagram, Grande commented, "i love you so much" and "it's (and you're) perfect [love]." The two artists previously collaborated on 2020's "Rain on Me," a Grammy-winning pop duo/group performance from Gaga's album "Chromatica."
Grande and Gaga developed a deep friendship while working on "Rain on Me." Grande described Gaga as "a sister" on social media while Gaga praised Grande's persistence in pursuing their friendship.
