AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez has shed light on her decision to cancel her "This Is Me...Live" tour, which was set to run from June to August 2024. In an interview with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, the singer and actress explained that she was experiencing a challenging period in her life and needed to prioritize her well-being and family.
"I was so devastated to let anybody down, but I just needed to be with my kids and myself and really dig down deep into things that were happening in my life," Lopez admitted.
The cancellation came months before Lopez filed for divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck on August 20. She described the period as "probably the hardest time of my life," but added that it also allowed her to focus on personal growth.
"I'm glad I did, because it was a really difficult time for me," she said. "But it was also the best time because I got to do that work on myself."
Lopez expressed gratitude to her fans for their understanding and assured them that she would return to performing soon. "I can't wait to get back out there," she said. "I have the most understanding and loving fans in the world."
The tour cancellation was initially announced by Live Nation, with the company stating that Lopez was "taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends." Lopez later released a statement on her website, expressing her disappointment and promising fans that she would make it up to them.
"This Is Me...Live" was originally scheduled to support Lopez's latest studio album "This Is Me...Now", which was released in February.
