AceShowbiz - On the night 3 Blind Auditions of "The Voice" season 26, 14-year-old Jaylen Durham took the mic and captivated the audience with his rendition of "Listen" by Beyonce Knowles. Despite his incredible voice, none of the coaches initially turned their chairs based on his voice alone. However, upon turning around, they were stunned to see a young boy standing on stage.
Gwen Stefani, in particular, expressed her shock, exclaiming, "Are you kidding me? I need a hug from you. They switched out a person, right? Was that you singing?"
Michael Buble acknowledged Jaylen's talent, remarking, "Your voice is different, but you're a great singer now, and imagine how great you'll be in a few years." Despite his nerves, Gwen was blown away by Jaylen's control in his lower register and his ability to perform on a massive stage.
Taking advantage of the new Coach Replay button, Gwen instantly put Jaylen on her team. The room erupted in applause and emotion. Carson Daly thanked Gwen for her use of the replay, stating, "One minute, they're in a funeral, and then all of a sudden it's a wedding."
Prior to his audition, Jaylen had expressed his desire to participate in the show due to his changing voice. He hoped to work with a coach who could guide him. After his rejection, his mother, Jessica, was visibly upset. However, Jaylen's impressive performance and Gwen's use of the replay button turned their disappointment into joy.
