AceShowbiz - Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is seemingly desperately trying to keep his marriage intact, at least in front of the public, amid his cheating scandal. The former presidential candidate is reportedly "begging" his wife Cheryl Hines not to divorce him after his secret relationship with Olivia Nuzzi was exposed.
According to a source close to the actress, she is currently considering taking legal action following her husband's "embarrassing" sexting scandal. "She's been talking about filing for divorce, but he's begging her not to file," the source tells PEOPLE of the pair.
"But how many times can you forgive a partner that's dishonest and goes behind your back? It's just ridiculous behavior from a grown, married man," the source stresses, as the "Suburgatory" star is allegedly fed up with her husband's behavior.
"She's been very angry about it. She has a great support team to vent to though," the source says of the actress, noting that "everyone's on her side, of course."
RFK Jr.'s affair with Nuzzi was revealed in September. She admitted to her editors that she "had engaged in a personal relationship" with RFK Jr., a clear violation of the magazine's journalistic standards. She has since been put on leave.
A spokesperson for Kennedy, meanwhile, denied any deeper connection between him and Nuzzi. The spokesperson asserted, "Mr. Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece."
But Nuzzi is allegedly not the only person who has been secretly involved with RFK Jr. Earlier this month, Mediaite reported that the politician had romantic relationships with at least three women linked to his anti-vaccine group Children's Health Defense. All three women reportedly began texting one another about their experiences after the Nuzzi story broke last month.
A representative for the 70-year-old anti-vaccine activist vehemently denied these allegations, stating, "Mr. Kennedy has had no romantic relationships with any woman other than his wife since their marriage."
