Production has begun on Prime Video's live-action 'Spider-Noir' series, starring Cage as the beloved noir-style Spider-Man from the animated 'Into The Spider-Verse' movies.

AceShowbiz - Cameras have commenced rolling on the highly anticipated "Spider-Noir" series, bringing the iconic animated character to life with Nicolas Cage in the titular role. Recent set photos reveal Cage filming a scene as the washed-up superhero, without his costume.
According to the show's official logline, Cage portrays an aging private investigator forced to confront his past as the city's sole protector in 1930s New York. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Cage may be playing a new iteration of Peter Parker's genetic clone Ben Reilly, also known as Scarlet Spider.
A more detailed unofficial synopsis reveals that Reilly's investigation into the death of Edward Addison uncovers a web of corruption involving the Mayor, crime boss Silvermane, and femme fatale Yuri Watanabe. The series will feature an ensemble cast including Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez and Jack Huston.
Writer Oren Uziel ("The Lost City") serves as the show's writer and executive producer alongside "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and former Sony boss Amy Pascal. Uziel's credits include "22 Jump Street", "Mortal Kombat" and "The Cloverfield Paradox". He has also contributed to "John Wick: Chapter 4" and the upcoming "Borderlands" video game adaptation.
Cage did not reprise the role of Noir in the recent "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" animated sequel but is expected to return for the trilogy's final installment "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse".
