Following revelations of an extramarital affair, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and the band are reportedly set to take a break to navigate the aftermath of a turbulent period.

AceShowbiz - Frontman Dave Grohl, 55, shocked fans by admitting to cheating on his wife of 21 years, Jordyn Blum, and welcoming a baby girl with an unnamed woman. The revelation prompted the band to cancel an upcoming gig at the Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut.

According to sources, the band intends to "take time to be with their families and focus on regrouping" after a "turbulent few years." They have cited the recent loss of drummer Taylor Hawkins, the death of Grohl's mother, and the birth of his new child as contributing factors.

"He wants to be at home and focus on earning back the trust of his family," a source said. "Being on the road isn't the best thing for any of them at the moment."

Grohl announced the birth of his daughter on Instagram, stating his intentions to "be a loving and supportive parent" and vowing to "regain [the] trust" of his wife and their three daughters. His two older daughters have since deleted their social media accounts.

Grohl once also admitted to infidelity in his first marriage, which ended in 1996.

While little is known about Jordyn Blum, she reportedly worked at MTV when she met Grohl. The frontman has admitted to initially being hesitant about a serious relationship before eventually marrying her in 2003.

Foo Fighters hasn't responded to the hiatus rumor. The band's future plans beyond the hiatus remain uncertain.
