She pointed out that DeGeneres has a $20 million Netflix deal and therefore cannot be considered "canceled." Kelly asserted that liberals in Hollywood will welcome DeGeneres back due to her status as a lesbian and leftist.
Schneider, known for his conservative views, joked about the challenges faced by other left-leaning women in Hollywood. He suggested that DeGeneres' experiences as a gay woman who was forced to hide her sexuality for years may have fueled her resentment and meanness. However, Schneider emphasized that this does not justify her toxic behavior.
In her special, DeGeneres addressed the controversy surrounding her show, recalling the headline that labeled her "the most hated person in America." She expressed frustration at being held to a different standard than men, stating, "We have all these unwritten rules based on gender of acceptable behavior, of who we're allowed to be, and how we're allowed to act."
Kelly dismissed DeGeneres' victimhood narrative and argued that people are not interested in her problems with chickens. She further criticized the double standard in Hollywood, where "nastiness" is tolerated as long as it does not target sacred cows.
Kelly believes that DeGeneres is not truly seeking forgiveness and that her farewell tour is more of a test of the waters. Schneider agreed, calling for a "come to Jesus moment" where DeGeneres acknowledges her mistakes and humbles herself.
