AceShowbiz - Eboni K. Williams is officially a mom. The former alumna of "Real Housewives of New York City", welcomed her first child, a daughter named Liberty Alexandria Williams, in August.

The 41-year-old announced Liberty's arrival via Instagram on September 23, sharing adorable photos of her newborn. "Liberty Alexandria Williams. My daughter was born in New York City in August 2024," she wrote in the caption.

The reality star explained the heartfelt meaning behind Liberty's name, which she drew inspiration from the history of the Statue of Liberty. Williams revealed that the famous monument was originally created in 1886 as a tribute to newly freed Black Americans.

Williams emphasized the significant responsibility that Liberty holds as a child born into privilege. She quoted Toni Morrison's words, stating that Liberty is tasked with freeing someone else since she was born free.

Williams' journey to motherhood was not without its challenges. In June, she had revealed to PEOPLE that she pursued single motherhood by choice after freezing her eggs at 34. She used in vitro fertilization (IVF) and a sperm donation to conceive Liberty.

Williams acknowledged the stigma associated with single motherhood, especially for black women. However, she refused to let societal expectations hold her back. "I'm not waiting to build assets, build my career, or start a family," she said at the time.

The arrival of Liberty has brought immense joy to Williams. She expressed her gratitude for the divine timing of her daughter's birth. "Should she choose to accept it, Liberty's work will far exceed my own," Williams wrote. "Welcome to the world, my beautiful baby girl."
