The model, who has publicly endorsed the former president, has supported the Republican presidential nominee's bizarre claims that Haitian immigrants are eating people's cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio.
Met by photographers at LAX on Thursday, September 18, she laughed when asked about allegations that Trump and J.D. Vance are racist because of their claims about Haitian immigrants. "Why is that racist if it's true?" she said in a video obtained by TMZ. "People have come out and said that their cats and dogs hung up in front of people's house."
The former music video vixen disregarded the Ohio government's response to the conspiracy theory, insisting, "Anyone can say it wasn't true and they didn't hear about it. We saw it all over the media."
Trump has been spreading the false narrative during his campaign. During his debate with Kamala Harris on September 10, the presidential hopeful said, "In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, the people that came in, they're eating the cats… They're eating... they're eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is what's happening in our country, and it's a shame."
Trump was quickly corrected during the debate with the moderator insisting that local officials had reported no credible reports of such incidents. Harris, who could be seen laughing and saying "this is unbelievable," responded when it was her turn, "Talk about extreme."
Following the debate, Ohio's governor Mike DeWine, along with a number of Springfield officials, dismissed the claims. "I think we should take the word of the city manager and the mayor that they've found no credible evidence of that story - of Haitians eating cats," DeWine said.
"I think it's important for us to really focus in Springfield - and this is what we have done - on what's important," the Republican governor added. "Take a community where they now have an additional 15,000 people come in and that's very unusual. It creates particular challenges that we can work on and that's what we are doing."
