The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrate their close pal, Tyler Perry, at a star-studded party in honor of the filmmaker who turned 55 years old on September 13.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended a lavish birthday bash for their friend, Tyler Perry, who turned 55 on September 13. On the eve of Harry's 40th birthday, he and his wife joined other celebrities at Perry's star-studded celebration.
On September 14, the couple was photographed leaving Perry's birthday party at a Montecito mansion. The Daily Mail reported that the event was also attended by Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Alicia Keys, actor Aaron O'Connell, Paramount and Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins, and his wife, Tracy.
According to an employee from a lighting company hired for the party, there was "a lot of music, dancing, and singing" along with speeches and food. The party was held at a six-bedroom mansion in Montecito, and the source claimed they heard "a male person who sounded like Harry" making a speech at one point.
Perry is known to be a close friend of the couple, and he is even the godfather of their daughter, Princess Lilibet. The couple first connected with Perry when he reached out to Meghan around the time of her royal wedding to Harry in 2018.
When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit the royal family, Perry offered them his Los Angeles home as a place to stay with their son, Prince Archie, while they transitioned out of their royal roles. Perry's compassion was greatly appreciated by Harry and Meghan, and the producer later welcomed them to their new Montecito home with a grand piano as a housewarming gift.
Perry shared the story of how the Sussexes asked him to be Lilibet's godfather in the docuseries "Harry & Meghan".
Princess Lilibet was christened in a small ceremony at the Sussexes' Montecito home in March 2023, with Perry flying in a 10-person gospel choir to perform.
