The former 'Dancing With the Stars' pro is requesting spousal support, joint custody, and legal fees from his estranged wife, Nikki Bella, in their ongoing divorce proceedings.

AceShowbiz - Artem Chigvintsev has filed court documents demanding joint legal and physical custody of his 4-year-old son, Matteo, with his estranged wife, Nikki Garcia (a.k.a. Nikki Bella). Additionally, Chigvintsev is seeking spousal support and requests that Bella pay his attorney fees.
Chigvintsev filed his request two days following Bella's divorce petition, which was submitted on September 11. According to his court filing, the date of separation is August 29, the day of his arrest.
Bella had requested sole legal and physical custody of their son, while granting visitation rights to Chigvintsev.
As per court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Chigvintsev is claiming "putative spouse" status for a period from August 26, 2022, to January 19, 2023. He maintains that he believed they were legally married during that time, despite their marriage ceremony in Paris in August 2022 not being recognized in the United States until January 2023.
Sources close to the estranged couple have described their marriage as "volatile" in recent years, with alleged instances of verbal abuse.
Chigvintsev's arrest for domestic violence occurred just days after the couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary. He was arrested after reportedly calling 911 to report a medical emergency and accusing Bella of throwing shoes at him. Prosecutors have not yet indicated if charges will be filed.
The couple met in 2017 while competing on "Dancing With the Stars" and began dating in 2019. They welcomed Matteo in 2020 and married in a televised ceremony in 2022.
