AceShowbiz - Lauren Sanchez talked about her past history with "The View" in a new episode of the show. During her appearance in the Friday, September 13 episode, co-host Joy Behar revealed that Lauren got rejected twice after she auditioned for the talk show.
"I have to tell you, it's so funny, my hand was shaking back there," Lauren shared. "My sister looked at me and she goes, "You're not auditioning this time, you're a guest.' "
Joy responded, "For your information, Lauren auditioned for this show twice and the powers that be decided, 'No, you're not getting the job,' but look at you now, I don't think that you needed the job!" Alyssa Farah Griffin added, "You haven't aged a day."
"First time I did it, I think it was like 20 some years ago, [I was] super young. I think they were replacing Debbie Matenopoulos at the time and I auditioned," Lauren recalled. "It was so much fun."
She continued, "And one time... I actually saw the clip, I couldn't believe it. They pulled my hair back, they made me dress a little more conservative and after the show, Barbara Walters pulled me aside and she goes, 'What are you doing?' And I was like, 'What do you mean?' She goes, 'If you're gonna go down, go down as yourself because if you don't go down as yourself, you're going to beat yourself up twice,' and it was incredible advice."
"And I don't know if you remember this, I was having a tough time, I was stressed out and you walked past me and you're like, 'Keep your chin up, kid,' " she added, while turning to Joy. The latter then gushed the former journalist, "It's so great that everything has worked out well for you so we don't have to feel guilty you're not on the show."
Elsewhere in her interview, Lauren talked about her fiance Jeff Besoz. "I'm really looking forward to spending my life with someone who I deeply respect and care about, and someone who loves my kids," she said of the Amazon founder.
