AceShowbiz - Chappell Roan was involved in a feisty exchange with a photographer at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. When hitting the red carpet on Wednesday, September 11 in Long Island, the "Good Luck, Babe!" hitmaker was seen snapping at a photographer.
It started after a male photographer off-camera seemingly told Chappell to "shut up." In response, she fired back, "You shut the f**k up. Don't. Not me, b***h." A woman was later heard saying, "Tell him, girl."
Following the frustrating interaction, Chappell told Entertainment Tonight that the carpet was "overwhelming" and "scary." She added, "I think for someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying, and I yelled back. I yelled back, you don't get to yell at me like that."
Chappell opted for a modern medieval look in a purple-tinted sheer gown and mint green robe. She elevated her style with a massive cross necklace, drop earrings, fishnet arm warmers, extra long metallic-colored acrylic nails and leg armor.
At the ceremony, Chappell took home her first-ever MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. In her acceptance award, the musician revealed that she dedicated her win to the LGBTQ+ community.
"Can you believe it? We're at the VMAs!" she shared while accepting her first Moon Person. "I dedicate this to all the drag artists who inspire me… for all the queer kids in the Midwest watching right now, I see you. I understand you, because I am one of you."
Prior to accepting the award, Chappell hit the stage to perform her breakout single "Good Luck, Babe!". The "Red Wine Supernova" singer dressed in a suit of armor for the fiery performance. Chappell was also nominated for Push Performance of the Year for "Red Wine Supernova" and Song of the Summer for "Good Luck, Babe!".
