AceShowbiz - Chappell Roan raised people's eyebrows with her new interview. The "Good Luck, Babe" hitmaker was accused of throwing shades at fellow singer Charli XCX when speaking about collaborating with other artists.
When speaking to the Rolling Stone, Chappell spoke candidly about turning down lucrative opportunities that don't "serve her music" or align with her image. She additionally called out the fast fashion retailer H&M, who recently chose Charli to be featured in its star-studded ad campaign.
"That's why I am saying no to every f**king brand deal right now, because I'm like, 'Does it fit in this world?' No, H&M does not fit in this world. Also, f**k H&M," she continued.
Upon catching wind of Chappell's remarks, fans believed that the singer shaded the "Brat" singer. "Not the charli shade omg…," one wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, September 10. "Charli spent (sic) some very nice words about [Chappell] why is she shading so much I don't get it," one other added, referring to Charli dubbing Chappell's music "obviously God tier."
Not all users were critical as some of them praised Chappell. "Thank u finally an artist not doing a fast fashion collab," one fan gushed. Someone added, "It makes sense, the outfits she wears on stage and in album covers could not be sold at an H&M let's be real."
In the interview, the 26-year-old star also opened up about terrifying fan experiences. She talked about the downfall of her whirlwind rise to fame, including a stalker that she met in her home state of Missouri.
"So now I have to have security. It's so lame," she said. "I got home and dropped to my knees. I have a hard time crying now because of my meds, but I sobbed and I was screaming."
She also recalled another terrifying run-in with a fan. She revealed that she was "grabbed and kissed by a stranger" while out for a friend's birthday.
