AceShowbiz - Alanna Gold, a newcomer to the popular Netflix show "Selling Sunset", has apologized for confusion caused by her recent statements regarding her ownership of Pioneertown. In season 8 of the show, Gold mentioned that she owned the small desert community in San Bernardino County.
However, residents of Pioneertown disputed Gold's claims, stating that the town is privately owned by over 100 independent parties. They clarified that Gold's minority stake in an entity that owns only six parcels in the Mane Street area constitutes less than 1% of the town's total acreage.
Facing backlash, Gold issued an apology through PEOPLE magazine. She expressed her regret for the confusion and stated that she never intended to disrespect the town's history or its people. Gold explained that her enthusiasm for Pioneertown, where she and her husband had their first date and wedding, led her to make inaccurate statements.
The residents of Pioneertown had also expressed concern that Gold's claims undermined the town's long-standing legacy as a film, arts and cultural destination. They emphasized the many generations who have contributed to the town's unique character.
In her apology, Gold reiterated her love and respect for Pioneertown and stated that she and her husband had invested in the community by purchasing a home and other properties. She expressed her hope that her actions would not damage the town's reputation or its sense of identity.
Gold's apology follows a collective statement issued by Pioneertown residents on Instagram, in which they called for an apology from Gold and "Selling Sunset". They also requested that the show issue a correction to the record.
