The music producer said he's working on a biopic about the late rapper amid news that he's recovering from a stroke, but the 'Ruff Ryders Anthem' emcee's family begs to differ.

AceShowbiz - DMX's family is not in a rush to bring his story to silver screen. Despite recent statement from Irv Gotti's team, the rapper's family has debunked reports that they're working with the music producer on a biopic about the late artist.

DMX's ex-wife Tashera Simmons set the record straight on the matter via Instagram on Saturday, August 31. Along with a screenshot of the news, she issued a statement that read, "In light of recent speculation, we want to clarify that we are not currently working with Gotti, nor have we agreed to partner with him on any content related to Earl Simmons, including a biopic."

"Earl Simmons, known professionally as DMX, is an iconic figure in the music industry whose life and story hold significant importance," the statement continued to read. "As we move forward with any potential projects related to his legacy, we are committed to ensuring that they are handled with the utmost respect and integrity."

"We appreciate the support and interest from fans and the public regarding Earl Simmons' story. Any official announcements regarding future projects will be communicated through our official channels," the statement, which was signed by "The Simmons Family," concluded.

News about Gotti developing a DMX biopic surfaced amid the music executive's recovery from a stroke. Confirming his recent health issue, a representative for the producer said on August 29, "Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago. He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He's been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life."

Gotti himself added, "I'm getting older. That's all. Only thing worse than getting old is not getting old." Gotti also revealed that he's currently working on a biopic on the "Ruff Ryders Anthem" emcee.
