Paramount+ announces the season 2 premiere date for 'Lioness' and releases first-look images, revealing a bloody Zoe Saldana and the return of the CIA's elite female operative program.

AceShowbiz - Paramount+ has set Sunday, October 27, as the premiere date for season 2 of Taylor Sheridan's espionage thriller "Lioness". The second season will launch with two episodes, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and international markets where the service is available.
The streamer has also released first-look photos from season 2, offering a glimpse of the series' star-studded cast and the intense missions they will face. Season 2 is currently filming in Texas.
"Lioness" stars Zoe Saldana as Joe, a CIA officer who leads a special program called Lioness, which is inspired by the real-life Marine Corps' Lioness Task Force. Laysla De Oliveira plays Cruz Manuelos, a new Lioness operative recruited to infiltrate a terrorist organization.
Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman are also returning for season 2, along with Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier.
In season 2, the CIA's fight against terror moves closer to home, forcing Joe to confront the personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of Lioness. The series explores the complexities of intelligence operations, the sacrifices made by those involved, and the consequences of the fight against terrorism.
Season 1 of "Lioness" set a record as Paramount+'s most-watched worldwide series premiere on launch day, with nearly 6 million total viewers in its first week. All eight episodes of season 1 are available to stream on Paramount+.
