AceShowbiz - Irish singer-songwriter Hozier, known for his soulful melodies and powerful performances, has reluctantly put his tour on pause to prioritize his vocal health after struggling with a recent illness.
The "Too Sweet" singer shared on Monday, August 26 that he has been forced to postpone his shows scheduled for August 27 in Billings, MT, at the First Interstate Arena, and August 28 in Casper, WY, at the Ford Wyoming Center. Hozier attributed these cancellations to vocal issues stemming from a recent virus. The artist addressed his fans via social platform X, where he expressed his gratitude and regret.
"I want to thank each and every one of you for coming to a show during this run, and in particular those of you who have shown such kind support over the last number of nights while I've struggled vocally getting over a recent virus," he wrote. "Although I've still really enjoyed getting to connect with you all from the stage, my voice just isn't getting the chance it needs to recover properly," he continued.
Sadly, the 34-year-old Irish troubadour's struggle with his vocal health has led to the hard decision of postponing the two shows. He acknowledged the disappointment this might cause but emphasized the necessity of making a full recovery to continue the tour. "It breaks my heart to do this, but I'm going to have to postpone the next two shows… to give my health and vocal chords every chance of recovery for the sake of the rest of the tour," he shared.
Hozier informed his loyal followers that rescheduling information for the postponed shows will be announced soon. Fans holding tickets to the affected concerts can either keep their tickets, which will be honored at the new dates, or apply for refunds from the point of purchase if they are unable to attend the rescheduled events.
Despite his health setbacks, the singer has recently released the three-track "Unaired EP," featuring songs recorded during sessions for his 2023 album "Unreal Unearth." If his vocal issues resolve as hoped, Hozier aims to resume his tour on Friday (August 30) at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, CO.
He concluded his message on X by saying, "I hope you can accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this causes. Thank you for your support and understanding." Fans and followers have shown immense support, wishing him a swift recovery, and eagerly waiting for him to get back on stage where he belongs.
