AceShowbiz - Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the former independent presidential candidate, made a surprise appearance at Donald Trump's rally in Arizona on Friday, hours after announcing the suspension of his campaign.
Kennedy Jr. was welcomed to the stage after endorsing Trump earlier in the day. Trump praised Kennedy Jr. and said that he had "run an extraordinary campaign" for the past 16 months.
During his speech, Kennedy Jr. addressed the rally attendees, criticizing the CDC, FDA, and other government agencies, as well as big food and chemical companies. He expressed concern about the health of children in the United States and pledged to support Trump's efforts to create a panel to investigate the causes of childhood health issues.
Trump announced that he would establish a new independent presidential commission on assassination attempts and a panel to investigate childhood health issues, with Kennedy Jr. playing a role in both.
Kennedy Jr. explained that his discussions with Trump had led him to believe that they shared values and issues, including free speech, the war in Ukraine, and a "war on our children." He cited these reasons for his decision to remove his name from the ballot in battleground states where his presence might be considered a spoiler for Trump.
However, Kennedy Jr. emphasized that he was not ending his bid and that his supporters could continue to back him in the majority of states.
