AceShowbiz - Donald Trump seemingly has responded to Beyonce Knowles' alleged cease and desist threat. On Wednesday, August 21, people noticed that the former POTUS' team had removed a campaign video featuring the singer's song "Freedom".
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung initially posted on Tuesday a clip of Trump getting off a plane in Michigan with the diva's song playing in the background. The post has now been taken down from Steven's social media page.
The removal came after it was reported that the Grammy-winning singer threatened to send Trump and his team a cease and desist after they used her song "Freedom" for campaign. A source close to Beyonce revealed to Rolling Stone that the Trump campaign didn't get permission to use the track.
Beyonce's reaction shouldn't be a surprise as she has been showing support for Trump's rival Kamala Haris. Back in July, CNN reported that the Grammy winner's team had granted Kamala' team permission to use the song throughout her presidential campaign.
The "Lemonade" star was planning to go all out to support Kamala in the 2024 presidential race. "Beyonce has cleared her schedule to attend a Kamala Harris fundraiser," an insider told Daily Mail earlier this month. The pop star reportedly believes the "stakes are too high" to remain silent.
The informant further noted, "She feels the stakes are too high and believes in Kamala’s vision for America," adding that the singer is even set to donate funds towards the campaign. "She has set aside $4 million dollars to donate to the campaign, with plans to donate more if she sees the need to."
Beyonce, who deliberately took a step back from politics after hosting a fundraising campaign for Barack Obama in 2012 alongside husband Jay-Z, previously "decided to step back in after people close to her showed her Project 25." It referred to the radical Project 2025 plan which was developed by allies and former officials as a blueprint for a second Trump administration, though his team dismissed the claim about the "extreme" plan.
