The alt-rock duo Loveless has canceled its upcoming North American tour following resurfaced allegations of domestic violence against lead singer Julian Comeau.
- August 20, 2024
AceShowbiz - Loveless, consisting of Julian Comeau and Dylan Tirapelli-Jamail, was scheduled to embark on a tour starting September 13, 2024. However, the tour has been canceled without explanation.
According to court documents, Comeau was charged with domestic battery in Louisiana in July 2018 and sentenced to six months in jail and a year of probation. The charge was later reduced to simple battery in March 2019.
In August 2023, an anonymous user on social media posted a thread detailing the case, including a statement from the victim. The victim described Comeau as "a dangerous scary individual" who had anger issues and had physically assaulted her.
Following the allegations, Loveless' management and PR firm confirmed they are no longer affiliated with the band. Rise Records, the label Loveless was signed to, has also dissolved its partnership. UTA, the band's touring agent, has not responded to requests for comment.
Loveless has been removed from the lineups of the upcoming Reading and Leeds festivals, which they were scheduled to play.
The status of Loveless' upcoming album, "Loveless II," which was scheduled for release on September 13, is unclear. Neither Comeau nor Tirapelli-Jamail have made public statements about the tour cancellation or allegations.
