AceShowbiz - The Monday, August 19 episode of "The Bachelorette" marked the Hometown Week. In the new outing, Jenn Tran would travel to the hometowns of her final four suitors, Devin Strader, Marcus Shoberg, Jeremy Simon and Jonathon Johnson, to meet their families.
Kicking off the episode, Jenn went to Houston, which is Devin's hometown. The pair joined his running club during their date before Devin introduced her to his dog and Jenn was impressed to see that Devin was a great girldad to his dog.
Later, they had dinner with his family. Even though Devin wasn't always close to his dad, he said that he couldn't get engaged to anyone who hasn't met his dad.
Devin's dad seemed to welcome Jenn easily, while his mom grilled her. She wanted to know if their son was being treated right as Jenn was dating four men at the same time. Meanwhile, Devin admitted to his dad that he didn't want to tell Jenn he loves her if he wasn't sure he's the one for Jenn.
The next Hometown date saw Jenn heading to Fairfield, Connecticut to be with Jeremy. Jeremy took Jenn shopping as they visited Connecticut markets, where they ran into Jeremy's aunt.
When Jenn met Jeremy's family later that day, she had Jeremy tell them about the night they first met. Jeremy's mom, however, appeared to be skeptical about his son's relationship with Jenn.
Jenn then visited Jonathan and his family in San Diego, California. The two played lacrosse and he invited her to his school. Jenn was hoping to hear the L word from Jonathan, but he considered the word "love" a big deal. That made Jenn second guess herself.
As she talked with Jonathan's family, she told them she was waiting for Jonathan to be as invested into their relationship as she was. Speaking to his mom, Jonathan opened up about his feelings and his mom advised him to stop hiding. He eventually told Jenn that he was falling for Jenn. Jenn said in her confessional that she was falling for him too, though she didn't tell him that directly.
For the final Hometown Date, Jenn traveled to Marcus' hometown of Tacoma, Washington. Jenn met Marcus' sisters as his parents abandoned them as kids and they grew up in foster care. Marcus, however, still had hesitation regarding his feelings for Jenn and he was afraid of being committed to someone due to his past bad experience.
Surprisingly, the four men met prior to the Rose Ceremony. During the ceremony, Jenn gave the first rose to Devin. Jonathan got the next rose, while the final rose went to Marcus. Jeremy was eliminated.
