The series initially seemed to be a hit, debuting with a strong viewership of 11.1 million within its first five days on Disney+, marking it as the streamer's most-watched series premiere in 2024. Despite this promising start, the series encountered mixed reviews and fan criticism that gradually reduced its momentum. Eventually, the combination of declining viewership and a hefty $180 million budget led Lucasfilm to decide against renewing the show for a second season.
