AceShowbiz - Amid feuds in hip-hop community that often culminated in street violence and resulted in tragic deaths, YG tries to broker peace in his neighborhood. The Compton native united rival gangs in his hometown for a peace walk and treated them to a hearty meal over the weekend.
The rapper led the truce and walk on Sunday, August 18. Per TMZ's report, the walk was joined by members of the Treetop Pirus and Fruit Town Pirus gangs, which are rival Compton gangs. The walk reportedly started at Gonzales Park, a local hangout, where YG posed for pictures with different attendees rushing and out of frame to get their photo taken with the star.
Family members and kids also joined them as they journeyed through the streets of Compton, making sure it's a safe space for everyone participating. At one point, The Game also showed up to support the event and was seen taking photos underneath a shady tree to stave off the L.A. heat, but it's unclear if he made it all the way through the walk.
Wearing a black leather vest and blue jeans, the 34-year-old added a red cap and matching red shiny shoes to his look. He accessorized with gold chain that came with a large pendant. He was filming the walk with his phone and shared the footage on his Instagram Story.
During the walk, YG stopped by for food at Tam's Burgers. He brought the whole squad into the small little shop with music bumping. The "Toot It and Boot It" hitmaker picked up a bite to eat at the shop. Clearly in good spirits, the "My N***a" spitter even showed off some of his dance moves.
YG reportedly organized the walk to help facilitate long-term dialogue between the two rival gangs after recently persuading them to come to the table.
