AceShowbiz - 21-year-old actress Jackson took to TikTok on August 16, sharing a determined video from the outside of a shopping center while carrying a large Givenchy bag. "Never depend on a man for anything," she emphasized in the clip, punctuating her words with a confident turn away from the camera and adding, "Period!"
Still wearing a gray sweatsuit and holding another smaller bag, Skai tagged the post with "The rich & expensive way! Add me on Snapchat Skaijackk for more."
Earlier in August, Jackson was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery at Universal Studios in California. Law enforcement responded after the park's security detained her, and surveillance footage allegedly caught Jackson pushing her victim, though there were no weapons involved or visible injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Jackson was held briefly at the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station before being released. TMZ later revealed that prosecutors found insufficient evidence to pursue charges, leading to the case being dropped. PEOPLE reached out to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, but they have yet to comment.
Despite the ordeal, Skai Jackson remains poised for a vibrant comeback. Known for her role as Zuri Ross on both "Jessie" and its spinoff "Bunk'd", she has leveraged her popularity beyond acting. In 2019, she published a self-help book titled "Reach for the Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback", and showcased her versatility by appearing on "Dancing With the Stars" in 2020.
Her next big project is promoting the upcoming horror movie "The Man in the White Van". Skai made her presence felt at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, setting the stage for the film's release on October 11.
