The seemingly amicable co-parenting relationship between Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez has hit a rocky patch as the two navigate contentious issues involving therapy sessions and custody decisions for their son Maceo.

AceShowbiz - Halle Berry has asked a court for sole legal custody of her 10-year-old son Maceo, whom she shares with ex-husband Olivier Martinez. In court documents obtained by In Touch, the 57-year-old actress filed a motion requesting full authority to make decisions regarding Maceo's medical and educational needs.
This move comes just days after a judge rejected her emergency motion to compel Olivier to resume court-ordered co-parenting therapy sessions.
Berry has accused Martinez of being uncooperative and prioritizing his personal plans over Maceo's needs. She claimed that Martinez decided to defer their co-parenting therapy until September because he planned to vacation in Europe and host his brother in August.
"Olivier has effectively unilaterally decided to take 'the summer off,' " Berry alleged in court documents obtained by The New York Post. She stressed that his actions delay the joint therapy sessions needed to resolve their co-parenting conflicts.
In her filing, Berry highlighted how Martinez's behavior has affected their son's well-being. She accused him of using Maceo to relay contentious custody issues and of attempting to influence Maceo's therapist with false narratives about her.
"To summarize, [Olivier] refuses to co-parent or communicate in a child-centered way or make child-centered decisions, which interferes with getting Maceo the help he needs," her filing noted.
Martinez responded to Berry's accusations by claiming she intentionally filed her motion while he was traveling, making it difficult for him to respond. His legal team described Berry's actions as attempts to "harass and strong-arm" him using her wealth and resources.
"Halle is constantly attempting to harass and strong-arm [Olivier] by forcing him into 'submission' using her wealth, and the legal professionals at her disposal," his team stated.
This latest dispute adds to the years-long turbulent relationship between Berry and Martinez. Although they started as a power couple after meeting on the set of "Dark Tides" in 2010, their romance turned sour. They married in July 2013, welcomed Maceo in October that year, and filed for divorce in 2015, citing "irreconcilable differences."
In May, the former spouses agreed to attend co-parenting therapy sessions with Dr. Jaye-Jo Portanova to improve their strained relationship. Despite this agreement, the conflict has continued, leaving the question of whether their disagreements will result in another nasty court battle.
