AceShowbiz - The relationship between Kourtney Kardashian and her eldest son Mason Disick has turned icy. According to a new report, the 14-year-old has been distancing himself from his famous mom and her new family.

A source told Radar Online that it was why Mason declined to join Kourtney's family vacation to Australia along with her husband Travis Barker and their baby son Rocky. Kourtney's daughter Penelope and son Reign Disick, whom she shares with ex Scott Disick alongside Mason, also joined them for the trip.

"Kourtney's doing her best to accept that Mason would rather be with Disick right now. She says it's because he's a teenage boy who needs his dad, but it's not easy," the insider claimed. "People have told her it's just a natural part of life, and that Mason will come back to her once he establishes his own identity, but it's still painful."

Kourtney and Scott split in 2015 before the Lemme founder tied the knot with Travis in April 2022. The change is apparently hard for the exes' three kids as they allegedly "hoped Kourtney and Disick would eventually get back together." The source added, "It's been incredibly hard for them to understand that Kourtney wasn't going to end up with their dad."

The report additionally noted that Mason prefers to spend time with his dad Scott because of his father's relatively lenient when it comes to rules. "Scott always tries to be the cool dad. The kids can have all the sugar and junk food they want there, and they can stay up as late as they want and watch whatever they want," explained the source.

Scott would also buy "anything [his kids] ask for." The informant added, "It's no surprise they all love going to his house. Sure, they love their dad, but it helps that it's a free-for-all when they're over there!"

The tension between Scott and Travis also doesn't help the situation. The Blink-182 drummer reportedly "can't stand" Scott and "hates to even be in the same room as him." The source said of the rocker, "He doesn't understand why he's still such a big part of the family."

Scott, meanwhile, chose to take "a step back from the Kardashians." It was also said that the "Flip It Like Disick" star got uncomfortable from Travis and Kourtney's near-constant PDA that they "really amp it up whenever Scott's in the room."
