Cage, known for his eclectic and often intense performances, will bring a unique perspective to the role of Madden. He has recently starred in hit films like "Longlegs," "Renfield," and "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent."
"Madden" marks Russell's first film as a director since 2022's "Amsterdam." He is also preparing a biopic on the late music icon Linda Ronstadt and a 1970s-set drama titled "Super Toys."
The official release date for "Madden" has yet to be announced.
