AceShowbiz - Tyler, the Creator has gotten things off his chest. The "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" emcee, who's never held back from voicing his thoughts, told new rappers who don't love making music to stop taking up space.

In a new clip from Maverick Carter's show "Mavericks", Tyler discusses his frustration with the new crop of artists. "I don't want to seem like a hater," he began. "Sometimes I have hater energy because I think I'm that good."

Tyler went on to express his deep love for the art form before criticizing new rappers that are only in the industry for a bag. "It's so many n***as out right now that aren't musicians that are getting treated like musicians because they make meme records," he said. "They'll publicly be like 'I don’t give a f**k about music I just do this s**t for money.' "

While Tyler doesn't condemn this mindset entirely, he explained how it negatively affects artists who truly care about the craft. "When every publication is like, 'Hell yeah, let's put that out,' now you're taking up space for n***as like me," he lamented.

The interview came months after Tyler criticized the idea of "New Music Friday", and instead suggested artists "should put music out again on Tuesdays instead." He said to journalist Narduwar, "I know people think because of the weekend they can listen and stuff, and streams go up. I think it's a lot of passive listening at parties, or [when] people get the time to go to the gym, so they're not really listening."

New music has been released globally on Fridays since 2015, with the date previously being Tuesdays in the United States. For the UK, singles dropped on Sundays with albums coming out the following day, while Europe saw albums release on Fridays. One reason for the change was to have a global date to limit the opportunity for potential pirating.
