AceShowbiz - Sinitta, Simon Cowell's ex-girlfriend, suggests the former "American Idol" judge has secretly married his fiancee, Lauren Silverman. Sinitta has hinted that Cowell may have secretly tied the knot with his fiancee.
In an interview with The Sun, Sinitta responded to a question about the couple's wedding plans by saying, "Oh, are they not married yet? I'm not saying anything, but I'm sure they are married. I call her Mrs. Cowell anyway, so they may as well be." Representatives for Cowell did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Sinitta's comments come amid reports that Cowell and Silverman got engaged in 2021 during a trip to Barbados. The couple shares a 10-year-old son, Eric. Sinitta and Cowell had an on-and-off romance for nearly three decades, beginning in 1982.
In a separate interview, Cowell opened up about his private battle with depression. On the "Diary of a CEO" podcast, Cowell revealed that he struggled following the deaths of his mother in 2015 and his father in 1999.
"I was on a downward spiral at that point," Cowell said. "I felt like a clown because I'm dying inside, and yet I've still got to do what I'm being paid to do as best as I could."
Cowell added that he found solace when Silverman became pregnant with their son in 2013. "It changed everything in my life. It made me happy again," he said. "Without question [his son Eric saved me]."
