AceShowbiz - Lisa couldn't help but get emotional after she landed her first acting gig in "The White Lotus" season 3. When recalling her reaction upon hearing the good news, the BLACKPINK member claimed she cried tears of joy.

"Oh my God, Mike White? I think he's a genius," the 27-year-old told Elle magazine about the show's creator tapping her for the role. "I think I cried. I was with my friends, my mom's friends, and my mom as well, but I didn't tell them that I auditioned for it."

"I'm super excited and nervous, because it's my first acting project," the rapper and singer continued. "So I was happy for a second, and then I was like, 'Oh, wait, wait, how am I going to deliver this?' "

Lisa admitted that acting is "pretty new to me, but I think it's similar to shooting music videos." She went on to note, "I'm excited for my fans to see it."

Lisa didn't give much details about the third go-round of the HBO drama. However, she feels like "people are going to fall in love with Thailand even more" as it's filming in her native country.

Lisa isn't the only star to appear in "The White Lotus" season 3. In new footage released by HBO earlier this month, new cast members Jason Isaacs and Carrie Coon are featured. Also joining the ensemble is Parker Posey ("Scream 3"), along with the returning Natasha Rothwell as fan-favorite Belinda from season 1.

In a twist from previous seasons, season 3 introduces an overarching theme: death. This time, the satire will explore Eastern religion and spirituality, as teased by creator Mike. Carrie Coon, one of the season's stars, confirms White's vision, stating, "It's a season about death. And this is his season about death."
