The actor and comedian provides an update on the status of Tenacious D following his band partner's controversial comment about Donald Trump's assassination attempt.

AceShowbiz - Jack Black has addressed the future of Tenacious D after the band's tour was canceled due to a controversial remark made by his bandmate, Kyle Gass. Speaking to Variety, Black expressed a desire for the duo to return but acknowledged the need for a break. "We need to take a break. Everybody needs a break sometime," Black said. He confirmed that he has remained in contact with Gass, emphasizing that their friendship remains intact.

The controversy arose last month when Gass made a joke at a Tenacious D concert in Australia about the assassination attempt on Trump. Black subsequently announced the cancellation of the tour, stating that he could not condone hate speech or violence.

Despite the controversy, Black maintains his love for Tenacious D, calling it his "favorite job" and "a work of art." He also highlighted his excitement for the upcoming film "Borderlands," in which he voices a robot character.

While the future of Tenacious D remains uncertain, Black emphasized that the band is not over. "We'll be back when it feels right," he said. In the meantime, Black will continue to promote "Borderlands," which hits theaters on August 9th.
